Music publishing house BMI hosted its “How I Wrote That Song” event in Hollywood, California’s Key Club venue on Saturday (February 11) and DJ Khaled, Wu Tang Clan’s RZA and Rev Run, among others, were in attendance to discuss their song-producing process.

When asked about getting a slew of rappers to work on one track in a timely fashion, like he did for his banger “We Takin’ Over,” Khaled said he had to personally go to each individual guest to get it done, and still, it took four months and plenty of hunting down to get a session with Akon for the hook. Meanwhile, T.I. got his verse done in five minutes and Lil Wayne beasted, banging out nearly 13 songs in one hour, said Khaled.

For “All I Do Is Win,” another one of Khaled’s smash hits, the Florida artist said the process was equally exhausting.

“[T-Pain] had me wait six months for the hook,” he revealed. ” I said, man, I gotta win. I can’ t take it anymore,” the statement being what sparked the track’s catchy hook. Source
